Description: A French classical romantic print originally created in the 18th century by Jacques-Firmin Beauvarlet (1731-1797) after painting by Francois Boucher (1703-1770), utilizing both etching and engraving techniques. The exact date of the printing of this piece can not be determined as the print was not examined out of its frame. "La Chasse" depicts a romantic scene in which a young man and two young women are hiding behind bushes, beside the statue of two putti. They are waiting for small birds to gather in the trap they set. The print is presented in a beautiful gold-color frame with burgundy mat. The frame measures 18” by 16” . Very good condition. The print is in the collection of the British Museum, among other institutions.
