Description: 1926 $10 gold Eagle, authenticated / graded / encapsulated by NGC as MS61.This is a brilliant select uncirculated specimen, as it was conserved (not cleaned) by NGS's sister firm NCS before being graded. It looks like it did when it came out of the mint bag in the bank closing in on 100 years ago, midway during a hiatus in minting the eagle, from 1920 to 1930. Note the reverse, which appears to have been rotated about 5 degrees counterclockwise when struck, so there's your minor error or die variety here. Enjoy the photos as you consider acquiring this well above average specimen of the sole mintage effort of 1926!
