Description: 1930s Colorful Dresden Plate Quilt TOP 88974 This listing is for a vintage Dresden Plate quilt top. No backing or batting is included; it is a quilt TOP ready to be finished. Judging by the fabrics used, the top was probably made in the 1930s. Many of the prints appear to be feedsacks. The fabric appears to be cotton. The top measures approximately 67" X 67". The Dresden Plates were appliqued by hand with buttonhole stitches. The background fabric is the color of unbleached muslin but is slightly heavier so plain feedsacks may have been used for that. The blocks were joined by hand. The top is pictured on a double (full) bed. I have seen no holes or fabric deterioration. The blocks were assembled by machine. To make a larger top, it would be a simple task to add some borders using either vintage feedsacks or a cotton print that would compliment the fabrics used. This quilt top would make an excellent addition to your collection. I appreciate that buyers would like to buy for the best price possible, but half-price offers are never considered or acknowledged.
