Description: This 1930s Mask Faced Santa is just SO COOL! My husband was a huge Antique/Vintage antique Christmas Collector. I have liquidated the majority of his collection over the past 3 years after he passed, but have saved some of the best for last! For now, I have at least 4 that I will be listing. When he obtained this particular Santa his beard was gone, therefore, I used real curly mohair to replace his hair and his full beard. I had planned to make him a satin suit, but never got around to it, so his original suit has several tears and holes in it, but it is still in pretty good condition for its age. His body is made of cotton and is stuffed with straw called Excelsior. His boots are made of composition and show a little wear around the edges and a little crackling, but not bad at all. They also have holes in the soles, so I assume originally he was on some type of stand. His body has no holes that I remember. His mask face is in pretty good condition, and is held on the head by straight pins, as are all these mask faced Santas. He measures 24.5" tall. His eyes are sockets in his head that hold C-7 bulbs and I will include the 3 bulbs my husband had painted to look like eyes (or you can just use your own clear or white C-7s). While the sockets are secure, I always hold the sockets still with my fingers while screwing in the bulbs so they don't twist. The cloth electric cord is in good condition. Absolutely a WONDERFUL piece for your Vintage/Antique Christmas Collection!
