Description: Here's a small format, (@9.25" x 12.25"), piece of sheet music written in 1940 when Franklin Roosevelt sought to break presidential tradition. FDR had cleaned President Herbert Hoover's clock at the polls in November 1932, and the economically distressed public - who had had three bad years after the 1929 Stock Market Crash - rallied behind the new president who had filled them with hope. But there would be years of hardship ahead in spite of all the New Deal "Alphabet" programs, and the economy never began to fully recover until we entered WWII. After winning re-election in 1936, this music was published during 1940 when FDR was doing what no other president had done before him: announce they wanted to stand for election for a third term. The tradition which George Washington had founded was being set aside. And yet, he was elected this time and even once more in 1944, the only person in our history to receive more than two terms. We amended our Constitution after HIM, so no one else could try that again. This is in nice condition but please look at our images to judge condition for yourself so you can be happy with your purchase. You're buying it "as is" because sheet music was often handled a lot more than other campaign material. The spine isn't separated, and it has very light wear. Remember, it's called ephemera, folks, since it was made to be used and then discarded. So, we're just lucky to have cool things like this - in any condition - to add to our collections. We are members of APIC and sell only authentic presidential (and other collectible) material so buy with confidence. We'll be happy to combine S & H costs on multiple purchases even though eBay claims we don't. We just issue a refund for any overpayment. Shipping on this will be Priority Mail, determined by your location. This is just some of the wonderful campaign music, (and postcards), that we acquired from a dear friend and mentor's personal collection, which we'll be offering continuously in the future. 9304
