Description: I have very exciting news. This is a very special landscape by the most accomplished Highwayman artist, Harold Newton. It has been in our family for over 50 years. As a small child, I remember Mr. Newton bringing this painting to our house and how excited my parents were to receive it. My dad was a friend of Mr. Newton and he commissioned this painting for my family's living room. My dad paid much more than the standard price of Mr. Newton's work for this commissioned masterpiece, because he wanted something special. The painting came to me after my mom died. I recently visited Dorothy Newton, the widow of Harold Newton. Mrs. Newton considers this painting a masterpiece of her husband's work, and I agree with her. It has been appraised for a lot of money, and several dealers have offered to buy the original. With Mrs. Newton's blessing, I am offering museum-quality, unframed giclee reproductions of the original painting here. They are about one-fifth the size of the original work, and painstakingly produced by a fine art printing company. The price of $349 for the reproduction here is a small fraction of the the appraised value of the original. Mrs. Newton, who is elderly, will share in the proceeds of each sale. I want to help her because frankly, she has been taken advantage of by some people over the years, including people who have come to her house to buy her husband's paintings, and then stolen them. While the majority of people dealing in her husband's work have been honest, those who have stolen from her have hurt her. This reproduction is 12 by 22 inches (about one-fifth the size of the original) and is $349, which includes very careful packing and shipping to anywhere in the U.S. Because each reproduction will be painstakingly and individually made, it will take about two weeks for you to receive the reproduction after the order is made. I don't know how to code this into EBay's template for the listing so please know that the two weeks is correct and any shipping time listed otherwise here is incorrect. You may receive it sooner, but I'm saying two weeks to be safe, based on what has been promised to me by the fine art printer. It will be shipped fully insured, with tracking, by FedEx. I've included some detail photos, including one of Mr. Newton's signature which appears in the lower right corner of the original painting. Please feel free to ask any questions before you bid. I own the copyright of the painting, and I've applied to have it registered with the U.S. Copyright Office. I'm very happy to help Mrs. Newton, while hopefully bringing beauty and joy to your family, as it has to ours. If you buy the reproduction of this painting in this listing, you understand: 1) The picture in this listing is the original painting, and you are not buying the original painting. You are buying a fine art reproduction on gallery canvas that is about one fifth the size of the original. It will be printed in fine quality ink on museum-quality canvas. 2) Your reproduction will be unframed, so you can pick a frame later that matches your taste and decor.3) The signature on your reproduction is the signature that appears on the original. Mr. Newton is no longer with us so he is not individually signing these reproductions.4) It will take up to two weeks to receive your reproduction, after you order it. There is nothing I can do to speed this up.5) Because the process to make your giclee reproduction is painstaking and supervised by people who specialize in reproducing fine art, it is also an expensive process. Once you have purchased your reproduction it will be ordered right away from the printer, and your order can't be canceled, returned or refunded. If you know anything about the Highwaymen painters, you know that Harold Newton was the best painter of them all. This is a rare opportunity to get a stellar reproduction of his early work at a very reasonable price. U.S. buyers only, please. Bid with confidence; my feedback is 100 percent.
