Description: 1970s Ericofon 700 White by Ericsson – Rare Pushbutton Dialing Model - Tested and Works This particular model was designed by Ericsson to celebrate the company's 100th Anniversary in 1976. The design follows and “modernizes” the general lines of the earlier rotary Ericofons that had been popular with users for decades, and a favorite with interior decorators. Former rounded lines were squared-off for a dramatic change in visual impact. The 700 model was briefly in production in Europe, but met with limited success and never made it to the American market.Features push button pulse dialing and includes a tiny electronic ringer (“tweeter"). Goes off-hook (gets dial tone) when the phone is lifted and hangs up when placed on a flat surface. Supplied with a cord that is half coiled and half straight. It's a treat to find a white plastic phone from the 1970s with so little color fading. Excellent cosmetic condition. Tested and works on a telephone tester. Displays well. Shows minor signs of wear to be expected on a vintage phone. There is a small crack in the black base pad above the dial and some very minor color fading, which is common with light colored plastic vintage phones. See photos for details.Passed these basic tests on a vintage phone tester: loop, receive, transmit, dial (all digits OK), and ring. Works on a vintage POTS phone line.Due to the age and technical changes in wired phone service delivery since the 1970s, there is no guarantee that it will work on a modern phone line. Some do not support pulse dialing.I acquired this set many years ago from a Spanish phone refurbisher. Sold as-is. Please see photos and ask questions before bidding. No returns.
