New Orleans Musicians - From left, front, Margie Grannan, Mona Matherne, Karen Prestenbach, Mary Lynn Constance are all smiles as they play and sing. The Immaculata Guitar Group is unique in several ways, not the least of which is its membership of 41 girls, one boy, a nun and director who has never had any formal music training. This unlikely combination grew out of an enrichment guitar course taught during the last school year in Immaculata High School in Marrero by Frank Donaldson, an English teacher. Donaldson is also a self-taught guitarist, part-time entertainer and songwriter. His students, with the exception of one, were all beginners. Photo measures 10 x 8.25 inches.
