This Norlin-era Les Paul features a gloss Natural nitro lacquer finish, loaded with a pair of boutique Lollar Imperial humbuckers. Featuring a Norlin-era tonewood complement of a mahogany body (non-sandwich), three-piece maple top, three-piece maple neck, and bound ebony fingerboard, and this guitar has plenty of natural sustain, punch, and treble detail on tap, weighing 10lbs 6oz. The Lollar Imperial High Wind pickup in the bridge position (originally wound for Collings) is Lollar’s take on a classic ‘50s PAF-style design, overwound at 9.2k ohms for a thicker, fuller sound that pushes amps hard while maintaining a smooth tone and dynamic, responsive note attack. The standard-wind Imperial humbucker in the neck position meters at 7.5k ohms, delivering quintessential PAF-style tailored mids, warm lows, and sweet, singing trebles. This Gibson has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.
