Handsome, antique, interior doors salvaged from an old home in Northeastern PA. The doors are made of solid Douglas Fir or pine and are painted on both sides. The doors have a traditional, Victorian style six panel design. When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak, soft wood. New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees don't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old have. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine. Hardware: The doors are not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection of hardware to outfit them (check out our eBay store).* If you would like the hardware holes plugged with solid wood, please email us for a quote. Condition: Both doors are strong, sturdy, and in great structural condition. They only have nicks, scrapes, and scratches, but no rot, warp, broken or cracked joints, or any other serious issues. Most of the blemishes that the doors have will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever remains will be subtle, "character marks". Modification: Do you want to make a pair using these 2 doors? Do you want to replace the panels with glass, screen/mesh, or something else? We could modify the doors to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the height or width, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
