Single panel wrap around labels. 3 different Jubilee colors. Black and shade of purple. Beer songs from the old days. This is part of the Jubilee "PARTY SERIES" created from 1953-1956. There were 24 known scenes available in 22 different colors so over 1000 variations could be achieved. These are duplicates I recently discovered. Pictures wrap all the way around the can. They were new when they were first used. They still look great and will display well. See all individual photos. Colors are not faded and no rust. No top or bottom. Multiple scratches can be seen on each one and they may not be perfectly round. Hard to photograph with silver can background. Originally part of the Dino-Soar Program where they tested Supersonic aircraft designs including the X-20 (early space shuttle prototype) and the now defunct SST. About 3,000,000 unlidded cans were donated from a local can company to use as filler for the two 38 foot diameter steel vacuum spheres at the Boeing test facility in Washington. Bursts of air up to 3000mph rushed through the spheres and the empty cans helped maintain temperatures and keep the nozzles from freezing up. It was decommissioned and taken apart in 2016. Thankfully a few collectors found out and put in bids and saved them from being scrap metal. Cans included in the find were: The first known possible example of a steel Coke can made for export, Rainier Beer, Olympia Beer, Shasta sodas, Pepsi, 7-UP, Mobil oil and a few more. On this Thursday, Americans could buy beer in flat top steel cans for the first time, but only in Richmond, Virginia. This was the first market selected by Gottfried Krueger Brewery to try what was at the time a serious gamble. Would consumers want canned beer after years of glass bottles? After more than 25 years of research and testing, brewers (and can companies) would finally have an answer. Turns out, yes, they did. They wanted it badly. Come summer, Krueger needed American Can, the company that perfected the technology, to produce 180,000 cans a day to meet the demand. The heavy cans could only be opened one way: with a church key, a long piece of metal, pointed at one end, that drinkers used to create two holes in the can's top.
