(2) K&N chrome air cleaners #56-1255 Weber 40IDF Dellorto DRLA VW Porsche 356

Description: Updated 10/19/24: This auction is for a pair of new K&N air filter assemblies, part #56-1255 (see link below for full details via Summit racing: K&N 56-1255 K&N Custom Air Filter Assemblies | Summit Racing ). Also included with these air cleaners are 2 pairs of cast aluminum velocity stacks (total of 4 velocity stacks). I've also added several more photos too. The air cleaner bases fit Weber IDF and Dellorto DRLA (as you can see in the photo where I matched one of my DRLA/IDF base gaskets to the air cleaner base). These air cleaners were bolted to a pair of Weber carburetors as part of a display in the front showroom of a VW performance shop at least a few decades ago. These air cleaners are used on many vintage air-cooled VW and Porsche applications (Beetles and buses, 914's, 356's, etc). I recently located the velocity stacks and added them to this auction. They have some light oxidation on them, but they are 1-3/16" tall with a 40mm throat size. . There are signs of very light rust pits on both sides of the top lids and air cleaner bases (I assume from sitting in the storage room with some humidity), but overall, these K&N air cleaner assemblies present well. I originally purchased these air cleaners with one factory stud missing but nobody wanted to purchase these air cleaner assemblies with that stud missing, so I installed a steel nutsert, a ground down machine screw, added an acorn nut that matches the factory acorn nuts to hold the lid on (same thread size/pitch as the factory studs), and a jam nut to prevent the machine screw from backing out (the machine screw is also secured with loctite). This is the best repair method that didn't require welding. Shipping is to the lower 48 states via USPS Priority flat rate and tracking and insurance are included.
