This particular set was a gift to an adult collector whose differing tastes led to putting the set directly into storage, not to see the light of day until consigned to Auntie for eBay. The designer Hervé Peugnet, who rebranded himself after a recommendation by Karl Lagerfeld as Hervé Léger, as early as 1982 had begun to make a name for himself by revamping the Chanel silhouette, championing a trend for body-conscious looks in garments, leading to the famous bandage dresses that molded and shaped the wearer’s figure. A true Léger peculiarity, according to Wikipedia, is that his dresses are knitted, not woven like ‘real’ bandages, presumably for a greater degree of body-hugging, though the materials still resemble bandage straps. After his brand was acquired in 1998, Max Azria relaunched the brand in 2007 offering a Hervé Léger by Max Azria Collection, hence, the then current in 2013 name of the doll. The doll itself is DEAD MINT, the contents untouched, so Auntie isn’t going to try and describe them in any great detail: A beautiful model muse doll with a deep tan complexion, two classic bandage dresses—one in bold red, the other in black and white, two pairs long and short boots, a leatherette corselet belt, and two purses. The gift box is nearly perfect, except for edge wear mostly to the lid corners, the two white dots above the squared logo on the lid, and a vertical flaw in the black color printing at the bottom corner of the box back (it looks like a scrape, but it isn’t—it’s perfectly flat and glossy to the touch). There appear to be other flaws in the photos, but there are none; it’s just the effect of dust and fingerprints with flash photography. I double checked to be certain after examining the photos.
