With most rifles the speed tube is narrow enough to slide right into the magazine tube. The quickest way to load (rather than just holding the end of the speed tube over the mouth of the magazine tube) is to pull the magazine plunger all the way out, remove the cap from the speed tube and place it on the bottom end (to prevent the speed tube from dropping all the way in), then quickly insert the full tube and remove it in one quick motion.
