Description: 5 Trachycarpus fortunei NC form seedlings which are 2+/- years old. We grow these from our own palms here in zone 7b Western NC. Our parent plants were grown from palms located in the Raleigh NC area. Those palms have survived for over 50 years including the severe winters of the 1980's and are still there. Our larger palms in the garden are over 20 years old and have seen 4 °F on several occasions with little damage. We grow all of our seedlings in an unheated greenhouse and outdoors so these are better adjusted to the climate that ones grown in a hot house. These are shipped bare root but well wrapped. When your order arrives please soak the plants in water briefly and then pot them up ASAP. Do Not allow the roots to dry out But, Do Not let them soak in water for an extended period of time either, this will cause rot. I also recommend placing the potted palms in some afternoon shade until they have went though any potential transplant shock. After they have had several days to settle in, then they may be moved into more sun, this will increase seedling mortality. If you have more questions regarding care contact us.
