This wafer has gone through the "SORT" and "BACKLAP" process. When the wafer is "sorted', a machine tests every individual device on the wafer and places a ink mark on the defective devices. The un-inked devices are then assembled and go thru a final test before sale. Backlapping is a process to grind the thickness of the wafer down to a thinner size, so it can easily be cut into pieces and assembled in packages.
