Description: 8 Greetings Antique Postcards. PUBL: Gibson. Scenes, Friendship Messages. This is a nice selection of GREETINGS postcards that would have been sent out for Best Wishes and Friendship. This is a nice mixture of postcards that are embossed, flat printed, and some have gold trim. The postcards show rural scenes, flowers, and some have nice friendship messages. One postcard has a silver style background that makes it look like a modern style postcard. These are nicely drawn with good detail, which makes them pleasing to look at. These postcards were published by Gibson Art Company, who started publishing in 1908 in Cincinnati, OH. The company published greeting cards and had many innovative designs including their famous “Gibson Ladies” that are sought after by collectors. Many of their illustrations were nicely done with pen & ink designs. These are good postcards to add to a collection. They would appeal to collectors because they capture the style used back in the early 1900s, and provide a "glimpse of life" back then. Overall, a nice selection of antique Patriotic Greetings postcards at a reasonable price. The postcards are UNPOSTED (3) and POSTED (5) with cancel dates of 1911-22. These postcards would have been "Made in USA". They have DIVIDED backs. These are BETTER POSTCARDS and good for a collector. The postcards will keep their value! They are sleeved and in good condition. Regarding condition, please note that we try to remove damaged postcards from our lots, and only sell those postcards that are worth having in a collection. However, because of their age (over 100 years old!), please expect some creases, cuts, stains, paper toning, and edge wear on the postcards. We do not want you to be disappointed. USA shipping is with tracking, and we use eBay Standard Envelope mail when the value is under $20 and the weight is under 3 oz; and, we use USPS Ground Advantage when the value is over $20 or the weight is over 3 oz. We combine shipping whenever possible. If you purchase multiple lots, you can wait and we will send you an invoice for the combined shipping before you pay.
