Postcard sent by Marine Mail and reads "Coblenz, Germany, May 28, 1919 and reads..."This photo features Crown Prince as a hand shaker", signed Ernest. Card 2. RPPC Entrance of American Troops into Luxembourg, 11/21/1918 about 10 days after Armistice. Card 3. RPPC dated August 11, 1918. A photo of Atten, France site of military action. Card 4. RPPC U.S.S LEVIATHAN carried 119,000 troops from America to Brest, France before the Armistice. Then she was painted gray and reversed course transporting veterans back to the U.S. Ernest Castanier was a passenger on her last voyage to Hoboken, N.J. on September 8, 1919. Card 5. Coblenz, Germany 1919. Ernest writes "Heine soldiers graves back in France." Cards 6,7 & 8. Rheinbrohl, Germany. An important train station and rail head in WWI. Post-WWI Ernest Castanier was murdered by his employee in a shocking murder-suicide incident in 1941. Details provided.
