Description: "A Portraiture of Quakerism, taken from a View of the Moral Education, Discipline, Peculiar Customs, Religious Principles, Political and Civil Economy, and Character, of the Society of Friends" is a 2 volume, 5.75"x9.25" hardcover set written by Thomas Clarkson and published in London in 1807 by Longman, Hurst, Rees and Orme. This is the third edition, and only volumes I and III (out of 3) are present. Vol. I has 400 pages (plus xl), and Vol. III has 448 pages. The books are in good condition, possibly rebound later in the century. The covers show fairly heavy wear, bumping along the sides, exposed corners, frayed spine ends, various scuffs and spots of loss. The title labels on the spines are completely faded. There are small, mostly erased pencil marks to the first pages, and light foxing throughout. The bindings are firm.
