For the Soviet player, the focus is on planning offensives, both major and minor, requiring delicate planning with potentially devastating effects. On the German side, the campaign revolves around supplying the Stalingrad pocket - a game within the game. Each Turn, the German player aims to supply the pocket, with the success of JU-52s determining the encircled units' supply level. The tactical superiority and German ascendancy are considered but challenged by Soviet resistance during the period of the war.
