Description One of the most recent Amethyst discoveries, Alacam Amethyst, named after the Alacam mine, a small desert mine near Ankara, Turkey, is a lilac-lavender colored, richly saturated, druzy amethyst that forms in large plates. It's colors can vary from deep purple to reddish purple. Turkish amethyst mines are known to produce some of the world's most spectacular deep purple amethysts.
