Description: Alexander the Great gold Stater. The coin came out of a private collection. My scale indicates it weighs 8.43g. 20mm.I do suspect that the coin was once mounted inside of a jewelry bezel in the past due to the markings around the outer edge of the coin and due to the edges looking like they were partially filed to look squared off.
