Known as the M178 LS2, the engine features a higher redline of 7,200 rpm compared to the GT R's 7,000 rpm, and uses a flat-plane crankshaft for a unique firing order. The M178 LS2 also incorporates a smaller compressor wheel, boosting pressure from the GT R's 135 to 170 kPa (19.6 to 24.6 psi).
