Description: ANTIQUE 1850 MAP of CHINA, 17 ½ INCHES by 14 INCHES: Up for review is this Antique Map of China. This map came out of New Universal Atlas, Empires, Kingdoms, States and Republics of the World - Philadelphia, Entered according to act of Congress in the Year 1850, by Thomas Cowperthwait & Co, in the Clerk’s Office of the District Court of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. The map, Page 68, with the border measures approximately 17 ½ inches by 14 inches. The map minus border is approximately 14 inches by 11 ¼ inches. The border is frayed with torn pieces on edges, two 1/8 inch burn marks, and soiling from age. The map only has 1/8 inch burn mark above Gulf of Tonkin. This map is very fragile and is over 170 years old. This listing shows the cover page for New Universal Atlas. It is not included in the purchase. See pictures for details.
