Description: ANTIQUE 1860's 1/6 PLATE (2) AMBROTYPE TINTYPE MAN & WOMEN GUTTA PERCHA FRAME Click images to enlarge Description Offered for Sale are these Two Antique 1/6th plate Ambrotype / Tintype Photos of a Man & Woman, possibly a Couple in a Gutta Purcha Frame. The images are under glass therefore I'm unsure if it's an Ambrotype or Tintype. The cheeks appear to be hand colored. The Oval Shaped mat would suggest this image was from the 1840's to 1860's. The Gutta Purcha Case displays decoration on both sides. Unfortunately the bottom side of the case has several cracks in it (see pictures). These Early Photos would be a Great Addition to any Antique Photograph Collection. Note: I am not an expert when it comes to photographic images. I have done my best to describe what I see when viewing the image. Please view all the pictures to confirm my description of the photos and cases are accurate. Photo Size Approximation: - 2 5/8" x 3 1/8" Condition: - Fair Used Condition - The photo of the Man is well preserved with only a few minor imperfections. The photo of the women has defects scattered throughout (see pictures) and the mat has several areas where tarnish is present. The Gutta Purcha Case displays decoration on both sides but has several cracks on the bottom that carry into the rear bottom of the case. There are nicks / nips to the outer edges of the case with some losses to the corners. Please see the pictures to view the condition of the item for yourself.
