Dates approximately 1860/1890. In WONDERFUL restored condition.No missing or replaced veneer. A wonderful Victorian box in good restored order. Inlaid to the top and front with pewter stringing and mother of pearl roundels. Further inlaid to the central cartouche and keyhole escucheon with mother of pearl. FULLY LOCKS.It is a really terrific box!! I’M PRETTY SURE THAT YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. Box retains the original solid brass lock, original hinges, and top catch. Supplied with a silk tassel and Victorian key that FULLY LOCKS the box. Instruction given once sold.YOU ONLY GET THIS TYPE OF QUALITY FROM US. Comprising a wonderful interior that boasts a later wooden tray finished to a superb standard that compliments. This has been relined in expensive velvet material of the highest quality, the same as the interior of the box. All the added dividers within the tray can easily be repositioned or removed if desired. The tray can hold a few rings in an upright position.Underneath the additional tray and beneath the base of the box have also been lined in velvet to stop any scratches to other surfaces. A superb box, and would make a fantastic gift. We have been antique dealers and restorers for the past 30 years. We have a wealth of experience.
