Description: An exceptional and rare 1830's Regency triple tea chest/caddy in the sarcophagus form. The chest is veneered with figured or tiger maple w/ extensive and intricate mother of pearl inlay. Note the domed center section to the lid. The interior consists of two lift out tea boxes with MOP decorated lids, domed in the style of the chest lid. In the center is a later glass mixing bowl. Note the turned carrying handles on the sides with MOP inlay, and the elegant carved wood feet. The mother of pearl and wood inlay work is of the highest quality! The box has a lock, latch, but a non working key, for show only. The condition is very good with minor restoration of missing MOP, and veneer chips. A few minor veneer shrinkage hairlines. Size of the box is 14" wide x 6 1/2" deep x 8" tall. Please view the images for additional information.
