Description: Here is a gorgeous Antique Syrian Brocade Purse from the 1910's - 20's era. Features intricate brocade of an exotic battle scene with figures on horseback - fighting, archers, blowing horns, etc. Woven in muted colors - red, blue, green, black and beige on gold background. Has elaborate gold frame and clasp accented with carved green jade floral stone piece. Highly detailed. The brocade, piping, and ornate frame are in very nice condition. Inside is cream satin lined with a slip pocket, little snap coin purse on fine chain, beveled mirror, and even a comb. The mirror has aging - discoloration. Some faint discoloration on the inside lining. The back has a little belt strap. The outside is in very good condition. There is normal, light wear - little thinning to threads; see pics. No discolorations or holes. Measures: 6" high x 10" at widest. Clasp fastens fine and is secure. Very old! This same brocade was used for packaging by Cartier and other high-end designers of that era. A very fine piece it it's day. Thanks for looking!
