Description: Gorgeous Antique Felling Axe A rare find with original handle I rehung, custom red on bit, custom black walnut cross wedges in the eye Fully restored Restoration: I rehung this on the original handle which was loose, custom black walnut wedges cross pattern installed. The head & wedges were all epoxied in place Restored finish on handle with many coats of hand buffed laquer, I left the beautiful patina yet still preserving the beautiful wood I love the doe foot handle end, fantastic character on it(see photos) I cleaned the head & put an edge back on it, if you want a razor sharp edge you will need to dress it some more, I intend this as a wall hanger but it certainly can be used as a working tool, it’s rock solid now!
