Approximate Dimensions: 6 1/8" (L) x 3 1/4" (W, narrowest) x 2" (H) Fenton Art Glass Company Williamstown, West Virginia ca: 1908 This is a very nice, beautiful, older (unmarked) Fenton marigold carnival glass card tray, depicting a six-pointed star with hobnails in a pattern Fenton in 1908 named as "The Northern Star." The pattern is on the exterior while the interior is smooth. A 1908 Northern Star bowl is pictured on page 100 of William Heacock's book Fenton Glass: The First Twenty-Five Years. Condition. This piece is in very good/excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The iridescence is also very good with lots of pinks and purples and turquoise. I would describe the iridescence application as being moderate (as opposed to heavy pumpkin) and with a radium-like sheen or lustre. There are, of course, some light "straw marks" (shearing tool marks from manufacturing) and some small internal air bubbles (nonburst) commonly associated with the manufacturing of old carnival and opalescent and EAPG glass. ...
