Antique Figural Gilbert Clock in ORNATE SPELTER CAST METAL case & WINGED CHERUBS

Description: Antique 1900 Figural William L.Gilbert Clock in ORNATE SPELTER CAST METAL case with WINGED CHERUBS. Very good to excellent condition and clean. Beautiful and ornate spelter case featuring two winged Cherubs with outstretched arms. Very heavy. Original GILBERT clock in perfect working order. Tested over 24 hours. Ticked away keeping perfect time. The back of the clock case seems to be missing a hold down nut. WHITE SPOTS AND STREAKS ARE REFLECTIONS AND GLARE FROM THE LIGHTING. The case measures 9 7/8ths inches high by 5 3/4 inches wide and 5 3/4 inches deep. The clock face opening measures 2 9/16ths inches wide and the back opening measures 3 1/8th inches wide. Weighs 2 pounds 8 ounces. No cracks, dents, gouges or stains. There are some light surface scuffs commensurate with light handling, cleaning and storage. The Cherub on the right has an irregular seam at the base of the back wing. There is a minute hiccup in the cast or soldered repair under the gold paint. It cannot be seen from the front and you need to be a few inches away to spot it on the side. The wing is attached as securely as the others. This tiny flaw is the only reason the item is not listed as straight excellent condition. THE CLOCK MECHANISM NEEDS TO BE REINSERTED INTO THE CASE BY A KNOWLEDGABLE OR PROFESSIONAL CLOCK REPAIRMAN OR JEWELER. THERE IS A TWIST AND LOCK PATTERN THAT I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIGURE OUT (OR PERHAPS THE MISSING NUT IS IMPEDING THE LOCKDOWN) I CALLED TWO CLOCK REPAIR/JEWELERS AND BOTH GAVE A $ 25.00 QUOTE FOR REASSEMBLY. THE FIRST OPEN APPOINTMENT FOR REPAIR IS SEPT. 6 SO I HAVE REDUCED THE LISTING PRICE BY $ 35.00 TO COVER REASSEBLY AND TRAVEL EXPENSES. SHIPPING COVERS EXTRA INSURANCE ABOVE $ 100.
