Description: Here is a pair of Rare Antique Professionally Framed and Matted Botanical Engravings from the Neoclassicism / Romanticism Eras; dated 1804 and 1832. One is marked as a No. 769 T. Curtis work, and the 1838 dated one is not marked by engraver. From what I know of these types of antique prints is that they were hand-colored engravings produced from original handmade copper art plates. The Curtis one may have been removed from his Botanical Book that was compiled and formally published in 1832. Both were professionally matted and framed later in time, and judging by the style of frame and the Lenem' Arts foil labels on the back I would guess Mid-Century, 1950-1960. Lenem framed original loose antique works of art for home and office decor and display. Including the frame, the outside measurements are 11.75 inches wide by 14.75 inches tall. They have sawtooth hangers installed for hanging and everything looks to be in good, tight condition. The image size in the center is approximately 8 inches x 5 inches. The matts are a very dark green, the frames are gilt finished/highlighted wood, and the glass appears to be of the UV protection glass judging by the difficulty my camera had focusing through it. Considering the age, these are in great condition and display just as they are quite nicely! Shipping: USPS with tracking and insurance. Separated by cardboard and cardboard wrapped before boxing. Thanks for Looking!
