Description: Serves Style Antique Porcelain and Bronze Urn Circa ~ 1875-1900 ~ 19th Century REPAIRED Please read my description carefully and reach out for more information if needed. This listing is for a beautiful Serves Style porcelain and bronze urn circa 1900 The front of the urn depicts a courtship scene that is typical of the era. It is quite romantic with a courting couple and what appears to be a church in the background. Please note: this particular scene is signed by the artist. The reverse side of the urn features a charming cottage and wooded scene that is in lovely hazy shades of blue. Each scene is highlighted with beautiful gold gilt scroll work and pretty little diamond shaped "ornamental" applications in very pretty pastel colors and gold tones. Please note: This beautiful urn has been repaired. The repair appears to be quite old and has stood the test of time. The repair is on the side of the urn and allows the urn to be displayed. Please look at all my photos and feel free to reach out for additional pictures. The urn is 12" in height and the four sided base is 4" across. The diameter of the urn is approximately 15". The lid has an acorn finial and fits securely on the lip of the urn. The top of the urn has a wreath of leaves, most likely acanthus leaves. The colors of the enameling or cloisonne on the lid depict the era. Shades of cobalt blue, pink, yellow, red and a light blue almost in the aqua family. All the enameling is intact. The cloisonne work is beautifully displayed throughout the body of the urn. The inside of the urn is clean and free from any damage. Please note my photos. We live in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. I took the urn to a respected antiques dealer. He told us it was a beautiful example of a late 19th Century urn that reflected the style of the Serves Porcelain Company located in France.
