The back side is nicely carved and has an inscription: An image of listening to a spring of water in a secluded place 幽壇聽泉圖 Made during the reign of the Qianlong Emperor during the Cycle of Renyin and the Year of the Yang Water Tiger in the middle of Springtime 乾隆壬寅秊仲萅 All in all this would place the year at 1782. The boulder measures 6.5 inches tall, 5.25 inches wide and approximately 3 inches deep. Weight-approximately 5 pounds. Shows wear consistent with age. Presented with a wood stand.
