Description: Antique Lambeth Doulton Pottery Jar by Elizabeth Atkins & Clara Barker 1877 Antique Royal Doulton jarby Elizabeth Atkins assistant marked by Clara Barker & other assistants (see images as there are other impressed marks on this pot) Elizabeth Atkins was an artist at Doulton's Lambeth art studios from around 1876 to 1899. While she wasn't one of the leading designers, she contributed significantly during a period when Doulton was experimenting with new techniques and designs. Her work often featured pâte-sur-pâte and applied designs rather than the incised designs popular among her contemporaries Condition: The piece is in good condition overall. Inspection found that there are small loss to some of the protruding beaded nodules and the cross shaped pattern in very small areas. The rim has a mark which is an original firing flaw. The pot / jar has not got a lid. It would have had one originally.
