Description: This is an interesting and early Antique Old Primitive Southern Folk Art Cowboy Farm Oil Painting on wood, depicting a rural Texas farm scene, and painted on what appears to be remnants of a Depression Era fruit crate. The folksy small gem shows tall trees framing the scene, while a figure in a cowboy hat and a horse with a plow behind it till the soil. In the foreground, vibrant desert shrubbery is visible. Signed: "Jeanne Doss" in the lower left corner. I could not find any information on this painter, but perhaps you know more about her or her work? Approximately 10 1/2 inches tall x 11 1/2 inches wide. Good condition for age, with some food splitting, minor paint loss, and edge wear to the frame (please see photos.) The hanger for this painting is from the top of an old metal coat hanger, which adds to this artwork's rustic charm. This painting likely dates to the late 1920's - 1930's. Acquired in Southern Texas, United States. If you like what you see, I encourage you to make an Offer. Please check out my other listings for more wonderful and unique artworks!
