Description: This antique dome clock is a rare find for any collector. The clock comes with 2 keys, one opens the front glass door, and the other is to wind the clock. Made by the Original Black Forest guys, Winterhalder & Hoffmeyer. The clock features a gloss brown case ( which is by no means perfect, it can actually use a good refinishing to make the clock perfect, please see photos) with a beautiful 3 sided GLASS design under a dome. The clock face and movement are signed. Movement is inscribed with WINTERHALDER & HOFFMEYER. Dial is signed J.D. Caldwell & Co. Philadelphia.( see photos) The clock boasts a unique chime sequence of Bim-Bam, QUARTERLY. Once on 1/4 hr., two times on half, 3 times on the 3/4 hour and according to the time on the hour. NOTE: Clock may need adjusting if shipped , as to be expected with antique mechanical clocks. The clock is perfect for any room and has a mechanical movement. The frame material is 3 sided glass inside of a wooden frame, which is very unusual for Winterhalder & HOFFMEYER clocks. There is also a back door for easy access to the pendulum and the keys. The clock and movement/ chimes are original,( not sure about the pendulum) This rare piece is sure to be a conversation starter and a valuable addition to any collection. This clock ticks like crazy. It is actually hard to make it stop. The clock has been lubricated recently.
