Description: Seller: Alley-Antiques DESCRIPTION: Antique Photogravure. Nice Antique Victorian photogravure print. This is a portrait of Abraham Lincoln by MP Rice. It was copy written in 1891. Printed by AW Elson and Co. Boston. "An Excellent Roast". It is in its unusual original cardboard frame with pattern. Back of cardboard frame has a pebbled leather like backing with a hanging tab ( hanging tab now has a metal wire on it to hang). This photogravure was made Circa 1891 and is dated as pictured . Over 100 years old. Fair to good condition for age. No Glass, probably never had glass as it would be too heavy for cardboard frame. You might notice very minor waviness to photogravure. Wear and edge losses to cardboard frame. Wear to pattern and gold gilding on the cardboard frame. Black pebbled backing has wear, creases, and losses. No rips, tears, or repairs on print. Ready to hang. Beautiful very collectible Abraham Lincoln Victorian period photogravure. Measures about 13 1/2" tall and 10 1/2" wide (cardboard frame included in measurements).
