Upon plugging it in the power plug glowed green momentarily, and then went to orange as expected. Then it booted right up. But just before reaching the desktop, it went off, and the power plug went back to glowing green only. Since then, when it’s plugged in, it only glows green (see picture), and the machine will not turn on. In my research, I found that it was most likely the DC power in board that’s the problem. But I don’t know for sure. Also, I took it apart to see if there was any other possible issues or damage and to see what capacity the hard drive was. I found that two of the three plugs that go from the top case into the motherboard had pulled out their sockets with them, so these need to be re-soldered. It’s pretty small and I don’t have the skills to do it but it looks doable by somebody who’s good at soldering. During the one boot up I did, I determined that the screen works fine with no lines, spots or any other apparent visible defects. So if nothing else, this would be an excellent replacement screen for another iBook. Because of it's age I can only assume that the battery will not hold a charge, but of course I don't know for sure. This is being sold as is/for parts. NO REFUNDS/RETURNS.
