These gorgeous bags are embroidered by hand by an extended family of artisans in Chiapas, Mexico, with designs that depict the plants and animals of the surrounding forests.The backing is cotton woven by hand on a waist loom. That fabric is then hand embroidered, stitch by stitch, in the bold colorful patterns typical of Otomi embroidery. Large, strong. Holds quite a lot!
