Description: Outstanding, vintage sterling silver concho belt handmade by the late great Navajo artist, David Reeves. Reeves was the older brother of Gary (also deceased) and Daniel "Sunshine" Reeves, both of whom he taught the art of silversmithing, along with half brothers Andy and Darrell Cadman. David specialized in fine belt buckles and concho belts and this belt is a prime example of his beautiful work. Made of nice, heavy gauge silver, this belt consists of nine domed conchos with the edges embellished with the precision stampwork that David Reeves was famous for. The large buckle complements the 9 conchos and has fan elements on each side of the oval center. All conchos are leather backed and the silver shows only very light scratches here and there from what appears to be very little wear. This is a stunning piece with understated elegance by a legendary artist whose work is highly collectible. Measurements: from end to end - 44 ". The holes are punched to fit from 32" up to 42". Buckle measures 3" x 2". Each concho measures 2" x 2". The belt weighs approximately 404 grams. Signed on the back of the buckle "D. REEVES" and marked STERLING. Please look at pictures carefully as they are an important part of the description. Questions? Please ask before bidding. I am happy to help. No returns.
