Description: Antique clothing button was likely produced in the 1800s or early 1900s. Mom had this marked as being a Birmingham Trade button. This is a weskit / waistcoat button, designed for use on what we Americans call a vest -- as part of a formal outfit. It features a moonglow type of glass -- or possibly some sort of gem stone, mounted in a brass setting. The glass is banded with shades of green, yellow and white intermixed. There is an elongated loop shank embedded in the back. Please refer to the ruler pictured in the image for the exact size of the button. Overall condition: Solid VG+/Excellent..... The button may have tarnished a bit with age, or have slight surface wear -- but there are no cracks, chips, or other more serious flaws. It is in very nice shape and will display beautifully.
