The wheels are pine with birch ( unsure ) spokes, wrapped with 1/8" thick aluminum, and fastened with stainless steel screws. Brass strapping covers the joinery of the fellows, on the wheels. All the trim, Trunnion caps, etc..., are aluminum, aside from a few brass ones. All the nuts are stainless steel and will endure everything time throws it's way. This is the largest cannon I've personally made so far, and it is the one I'm most proud of, as well. And, it is a delight to look at, and even more enjoyable to fire.
