Description: The Black Sash certification in Shaolin Pao Chui is our flagship course at The Institute for Martial Arts Research (IMAR). Using a range of video materials, you will be guided through the art from beginning exercises through to advanced forms and applications. Once you have attained your black sash, you are qualified to instruct the art of Shaolin Pao Chui yourself, and able to award rank to your own students (up to a maximum of one belt level below your current rank). Additionally, all students who purchase this course are awarded lifetime membership of the Institute for Martial Arts Research. In 2013, Tian Jian was awarded 7th duan black sash in Shaolin Pao Chi and the title of "Grandmaster" by 34th generation Shaolin Temple Warrior Secular Disciple Shi Yan Zhi (a disciple of Abbot Shi Yong Xin) and Grandmaster Gu Ping, Professor of Wushu at Beijing University and 32nd generation Shaolin Temple Secular Disciple. Nine years and a dozen students later, he was awarded the rank of 8th duan black sash. His rank is recognised by a number of international organisations, such as the Shaolin Athletic Association and the Italian Chin Woo Association.Please note, this course is completely online. You will need a computer or device with internet access to use this course. After purchasing, you will be sent a link through which to access the course, along with a digital copy (pdf) of your black sash certificate that is suitable for printing and framing. Additionally, further modules are available for purchase that covers the entire curriculum and certify purchasers up to the rank of 5th duan black sash. Martial artists who have already attained black belt / sash rank or higher in a related discipline may be eligible to "cross rank".
