On the back in pencil there are some notes that indicate that this bookplate was designed by Delia White Vail, Windsor Holden White's sister. There is also some more information on the back in pencil. See photos. Some minor discoloration, otherwise in very good + condition. Windsor Holden White (July 18, 1905 – 1976) was a prominent American polo player known for his contributions to the sport. Born into the influential White family of Ohio, which made significant strides in the automotive industry through the White Motor Company, Windsor Holden White distinguished himself in the realm of polo. He competed in the U.S. Open Polo Championship in 1941 and became a patron of the Polo Cottage team after moving to England. His impact on polo is commemorated through the Holden White Qualifying Matches at the Guards Polo Club and the Holden White Cup at Cowdray Park Polo Club. Beyond his sporting achievements, White served with the U.S. Office of Censorship in England during World War II and was married twice, first to Jean Stevenson Graves and later to Jean Kathleen Mary Fielding.
