Description: Offered here is a seven-inch yellow glazed redware plate with a sgraffito bird and flowers by Breininger Pottery in excellent condition. The plate is 7 inches in diameter and about 1 inch deep. The back of the plate is inscribed “Breininger Pottery,” “Robesonia, PA,” August 29, 1984,” and “Cloudy.” Our understanding is that this last reference to a cloudy day is indicative of the quaint sayings that the Breiningers used as part of their mark, reminiscent of marks used by the old Pennsylvania potters. We are unaware of what the inked letter and numbers stand for. The Breininger Pottery apparently existed from around 1965 to about 2011 when Lester Breininger died. There are no chips, cracks, hairlines, utensil marks or any other indication of damage that we can see. Please review the accompanying photographs carefully as they are the most important part of the description. Click on “See details” under “Shipping” above for the cost of shipping fees and packing materials. We only ship within the United States and offer USPS priority mail, USPS ground advantage or FedEx ground or home delivery for this plate. We do accept returns, if notified within thirty days of receipt, and the plate is returned in the condition in which it was received.
