Original Italian Monroe rarity: Marilyn comforting Montgonery Clift in this poster scene is the opposite of her sexualized pin up image, and most likely why she and husband/sceenwriter Arthur Miller pursued making this film: thi Italian half sheet captures the essence of what is arguably Monroe's finest film performance. Condition of this poster is very good, some small and removable scotch tape marks and some waving in this heavyweight photobusta poster. Beautifully preserved original! I purposely shot the photos for this eBay description in order that no digitial copies can be (easily) made, it is a very rare Italian photobusta poster. Directed by John Huston who had previously directed Marilyn Monroe in The Asphalt Jungle (1950) it was the last completed film for both Clark Gable and Marilyn Monroe, Clift went on until 1966 before his death. It's a shame Marilyn's Kennedy scandals may have superseded any accolades she deserved for this film. Good luck bidding on this original Italian poster for THE MISFITS 1961!
