Written by James Grant, a Scottish novelist, historian, and miscellaneous writer. CONDITION In the original half crushed morocco with patterned boards. Externally, sound with rubbing and light bumping to the extremities. Minor loss to the head and tail of the spines with front joint starting to volume III, still firm. Marks to the boards. Internally, generally firmly bound with detached endpapers and frontispiece loosely inserted. Pages are bright with scattered spotting. Pencil inscription to the front endpaper. The top corner has been cut from the front endpaper of volume III.
