Description: Offered is the antique book "Catherine the Great", written by Katherine Anthony and published by the Garden City Publishing Co. in Garden City, New York. This biography of the 18th century Russian ruler has a 1925 copyright date. There are several full-page black and white illustrations. The original dust jacket is included. The book is approx. 8 1/4" x 5 3/4" and contains 331 pages, including the index. The book itself is in good to very good condition. The purple hard cover has almost no wear, but does have some light spottiness. The black words on the spine are still distinct. There is no cracking inside either the front or the back cover. The white endpapers have browned considerably and have some spotting. The original owner's name, dated 1930, is written inside of the front cover. I see no missing or torn pages and all are well-attached to the binding. They have browned slightly and there is some light spotting. I see no writing in the book other than the owner's name and date, already mentioned. The dust jacket has considerable wear, with one large tear and many shorter edge tears. It has light soiling and fading. I have a lot of experience with antique books but am not an expert so please let me know if my description is missing information and you have additional questions.
