Description: Rare and Collectible Civil Defense Cold War Era School Book Covers. Production dated 1964. See lower left corner (GPO: 1964 O-731-929). Stamped with Cook County Civil Defense board members: Richard B. Ogilvie, President, who was Cook County Commissioner President and Cook County Sheriff at the time 1967 through 68. Shortly after he became the Governor of Illinois from 1969 to 1973. As well as Harry H. Magers, who was the Civil Defense Director in 1967 and 68 (both cited from the Illinois blue book, 1967 through 1968). This book cover was distributed to the students of Chicago Public Schools, and likely other schools in Illinois. It is unused and in excellent condition for its age. No visible signs of bent edges or rips or tears. Has a light powder as if it has never been touched before. The book cover measures 20" X 12.5" . There are intentional color tonal shifts around the image area (as this part would be folded to the inside of the textbook covers and taped to hold in place). The book cover will be lightly rolled and mailed in a strong mailing tube to prevent damage in delivery. Please contact me with questions or additional photos.
